James Nesbitt has been announced as the latest member of cast to join the new Netflix series Missing You.

After the huge success of Fool Me Once earlier this year, two further projects from author Harlan Coben were greenlit with the streaming giant.

It's not the first time the Northern Irish actor will appear in a Harlan Coben Netflix series, having appeared as DS Michael Broome in 2021 hit Stay Close.

Netflix's description of Missing You reads: "Eleven years ago Detective Kat Donovan's fiancé Josh – the love of her life – disappeared and she's never heard from him since.

"Now, swiping profiles on a dating app, she suddenly sees his face and her world explodes all over again.

"Josh's reappearance will force her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past.'"

It is reported that Nesbitt will be playing the character of Calligan with filming already underway for the series in Manchester and the northwest of England.

He will star alongside Rosalind Eleazer as Detective Kat Ellis, Eastenders star Jessica Plummer, comedian Lenny Henry and other new cast announcements Matt Jay-Willis of Busted and Top Boy actor Ashley Walters.
