A Virginia man is accused of murdering a woman whose body was found in a trash collection truck near the home they shared.
Brendon Devon White, 28, was arrested Saturday on a charge of murder in connection with the death of 30-year-old Taty’ana Zakiyyah Cooks. Police have confirmed to PEOPLE that White and Cooks were in a previous relationship, but were still residing together in the same home.
Cooks was reported missing on March 21 after she did not pick up her child from daycare.
During the investigation, detectives discovered that Cooks’ belongings were still in her Woodbridge home, but White was allegedly driving her vehicle.

“Additional evidence was discovered which indicated the accused was involved in the victim’s death,” according to the release. A hearing for White is scheduled for later this week. It is unclear if he's retained an attorney to speak on his behalf.
