More than 100 roads were closed in southeast Missouri on Saturday, April 29, after significant rain triggered flooding that washed away some roads and bridges.

Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens declared a state of emergency in response to the flash flooding. Residents in hard hit areas were evacuated, and the American Red Cross opened shelters.

In Taney County, officials were watching Table Rock Lake and Lake Taneycomo and any potential flooding, according to a report. The spillways at Table Rock Dam were opened on Sunday.
