Molly-Mae Hague 'beyond ecstatic' as she's named new creative director of Pretty Little Thing
Love Island’s Molly-Mae Hague has said she is “beyond ecstatic” to have been named the new creative director of Pretty Little Thing.
The 22-year-old said on Instagram that her new role, which is rumoured to be worth seven figures, is a “complete dream come true”.
“I’m beyond ecstatic to announce that I am the new CREATIVE DIRECTOR of @prettylittlething for UK/EU,” wrote Hague, who was a contestant on the fifth series of Love Island.

“This is the biggest move in my career so far and I can’t explain my gratitude to my favourite brand in the world for trusting me with this role.
“PLT have had faith in me from the VERY start and to now be a director within the business feels like a complete dream come true. I hope you’re all ready for my visions to come to life within this incredible brand.”
Many fans congratulated the reality star on her good news – with some calling her the UK version of US make-up mogul Kylie Jenner and others saying she was just “killing it”.
“You have changed the game girl,” gushed one fan, while Hague’s fellow Love Islander Maura Higgins posted on Instagram: “BOSS.
"So proud of you angel, you deserve all the success in the world.”
However, some questioned the star’s credentials.
One person posted a message on Twitter suggesting Hague might not have put in quite the “hard graft” of other people trying to make it in the fashion industry.
And another tweeted: “Congratulations but this is a job people get degrees for and work hard for years to get experience for!! Seems a little unfair for those people xx.”
Discussing her new post, Hague told The Sun she never wanted to be pigeon-holed as just a Love Islander.
“I never wanted to be known as a Love Islander because I felt it closed me off to a lot of other opportunities that I have now explored in the way I distanced myself,” she said.

“I don’t believe, if I had stuck with ‘I'm just a Love Islander, I’m just a Love Islander’, I probably wouldn’t be sitting here now as the creative director of PLT,” added the star.
Hague and her boyfriend Tommy Fury - a boxer and brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury - came second on the 2019 series of Love Island, behind Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea.
