Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will see Godzilla rampaging on our screens again very soon.
The new Apple TV+ series features a star-studded cast and is based on Legendary’s Monsterverse. It proves that no matter how many times the Kaiju is defeated, Godzilla will emerge from the depths to fight humanity and other monsters time and time again.
Legendary's Monsterverse has spawned multiple films over the years, including 2014's Godzilla, 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters and 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters release date
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will debut on Friday, 17 November, launching with the first two episodes on Apple TV+. From there, audiences will get a new episode each Friday until its 10-episode arc has finished.

The second full trailer debuted at New York Comic Con in mid-October, showcasing more creature-led destruction and a mystery waiting to be solved.
Meanwhile, Kurt Russell set the tone in the first official trailer for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, a teaser that invites us into a broken, creature-filled world and introduces viewers to the group of rebels determined to uncover the mystery of their origin.
With an eerie soundtrack and flashbacks to John Goodman's Kong: Skull Island character Bill Randa setting up the series' mysterious plot, the series' first trailer sets the scene nicely for plenty of action and intrigue.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters plot
The Apple TV+ series is set in different time periods and told across three generations. In one time period Godzilla has faced the Titans in a battle that levelled San Francisco and this has revealed to humanity that monsters are terrifyingly real.
Two siblings thus make it their mission to uncover their father's connection to a secret organisation known as Monarch in order to better understand the world of monsters, and as they do they learn about an army officer named Lee Shaw.
Shaw's story is depicted over different decades of his life, first in the 1950s and then half a century later, as the siblings learn of how Shaw came to know secrets that threatened Monarch.
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters cast
Lee Shaw will be played by father-son duo Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell, with the latter playing the officer during the 1950s and his dad portraying the character in the early 2000s.

They will be joined on the show by Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett and Elisa Lasowski.
