Montgomeryshire and Glyndwr general election 2024: constituency result in full
Labour's Stephen Witherden is the new MP for Montgomeryshire and Glyndwr. The former MP for the constituency, Craig Williams, caught at the centre of a betting scandal came third.
Oliver Lewis, the Reform candidate came second and the Liberal Democrat, Glyn Preston, came fourth. Mr Williams lost his party's support during the campaign after admitting betting on the date of the election. It was too late for any amendments to be made to postal votes or ballot forms and Mr Williams is not suspended from the party.
As the campaign has gone on, it has become an incredibly close race between him and the Labour candidate with a late Welsh-specific poll saying it was too close to call. As part of the boundary review, this seat takes up the whole of the former Montgomeryshire seat and adds 46.6% of what used to be the Clywd South seat. We'll update the widget below as soon as the result is announced.
