Moped-riding pair rips off $150K in jewelry during broad-daylight NYC heist: cops
A moped-riding pair ripped off a bag holding more than $150,000 in jewelry – including a diamond-studded chain and a pricey watch — from a man during a broad-daylight Queens heist late last month, cops said.
The thieves, on two separate rides, rolled up to the 35-year-old victim at 68th Avenue and 108th Street in Forest Hills around 4 p.m. March 24, authorities said as they released photos of the duo late Tuesday.
They “forcibly removed” their target’s bag, holding $150,000 in assorted jewelry – including a chain with embedded diamonds as well as a watch valued at $2,500, police said.
Both suspects took off on their mopeds and had not been caught by Wednesday.
The victim was treated by EMS for minor injuries to his face and hand, cops said.
Anyone with information on the stick-up is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
