More than 2,700 Cherokee County electric customers without power

Apr. 28—Oncor reported as of 6:42 p.m. Sunday, 2,787 meters in Cherokee County had no power due to a line of heavy thunderstorms that passed through the region in the late afternoon, early evening.

The bulk of those in the dark, 1,952, are located in Jacksonville. An additional 503 customers in Rusk are without power, while 332 accounts east of New Summerfield are without electricity.

No estimated completion on the repairs was given.
