This Morning fans demand 'pay rise' over Rishi Sunak appearance as 'final meal as PM' sparks reaction

This Morning fans have said that the person behind Rishi Sunak's appearance on the show should get a 'pay rise' as he arrived on set after one of the show's more unusual segments. Meanwhile, his plans for his 'final meal' as Prime Minister, if that happens, also caused a stir.

The Conservative party leader spoke to hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley live in the studio ahead of the General Election on Thursday (July 4). With just hours of campaigning left, Rishi admitted to the hosts: "I'm feeling good, I had a very good day yesterday, a long day, trying to talk to as many people across the country as possible about their choice. It’s an important choice."

In response to what MP Mel Stride was claiming earlier 'that the Conservatives' were not going to win, Rishi replied: "What Mel was doing was warning what a Labour majority unchecked would mean for people, and we saw some analysis that showed just over 130,000 can make the difference in this election, so everyone watching who thinks it's a full gone conclusion, it’s not, your vote matters."

Later, when going through some viewer questions, one asked what his last supper at Number 10 would be, if it was to be this week, Rishi smiled and said: "I’ll actually be at home in North Yorkshire but my favourite meal generally is sandwiches!"

He continued: "I’m a big sandwich person, but on election night, my local butchers always do a special election pie - it’s a very good pork pie with chutney and cheese on top. So that is our election night dinner tradition."

And his response caused This Morning viewers to flock to social media. @fuzzybeepants quipped: "Sandwiches? SANDWICHES?! Who does he think he is Paddington flipping bear #thismorning." @NostrilsHairy posted: "#thismorning Rishi Sunak’s favourite meal is…. SANDWICHES!! Sorry, what?"

@SenorApple2014, meanwhile, shared the famous Gordon Ramsay "idiot sandwich" meme as they added: "I’m sorry, did he just say he loves SANDWICHES as a meal?! Sandwiches, of all foods… for a f***ing meal?! #ThisMorning."

Others, meanwhile, were distracted by the fact that Rishi's appearance on the show's famous sofa came after Britain's "most tattooed mum" made an appearance on the ITV programme to talk about her extensive body art, including tattoos on her intimate areas. Becky joined them on set clad only in a white bikini, showcasing the myriad of tattoos covering her face, torso, limbs, and more. She shared that the tattoos on display are just the tip of the iceberg she has even ventured into genital tattooing.

She said: "I was always into body modification from a young age. I just thought it was really cool and I liked how different it was. I liked people who stood out. I had my first tattoo when I was 15 years old it was not a wise decision. I had my boyfriend's name tattooed directly across my crotch, but obviously that doesn't exist anymore [because I broke up with him]."

A photo of Becky before her transformation was shown during the show, prompting her to admit that she barely recognises herself now after numerous surgeries and tattoos. "When I look at that picture it's not me. Becky back then was a nightmare, she was wild."

Reacting to the switch between segments on the show, @iamanotherben said: "Whoever it was that booked Rishi for directly after the tattooed woman needs a pay rise. Had him squirming before he got on the sofa. #ThisMorning." While @SarahExSugababe added: "Creasing at the unhingedness of Tattoo girl in her bikini telling Rishi Sunak she’d help him pick a tattoo #thismorning."
