This Morning star Josie Gibson has confirmed that she is indeed single after a recent romantic relationship broke down.

Gibson opened up about being single in a new interview with OK!, clarifying that she has "high standards" in her dating life due to her son, Reggie-James.

"I’m quite old-fashioned and I’m cautious about who I bring into my son’s life, because I want to protect him. I’d have to be going out with someone a year before I introduced them to Reg," Gibson explained.

In an episode of Shopping With Keith Lemon last month, Gibson revealed that she was seeing somebody new and that the mysterious person was giving her "the flutters." However, that relationship has since ended, with Gibson telling OK! why.

"I was love-bombed, but that didn’t work out. I’m single as a Pringle because I’ve got too much pride in myself and too much self-respect to ever go near anyone who doesn’t follow the same values I do," Gibson said.

She continues: "You’ve got to be careful that people are with you for the right reasons. So the only man in my life is my Reggie."

Gibson explained that is content being single at the moment as it allows her to focus on her five-year-old son, Reggie-James, who she had with her former boyfriend, Terry.

"Don’t get me wrong, we have our ups and downs, but I am so happy he’s Reggie’s dad. I love watching them together – it’s the sweetest thing. Terry is the best dad in the world and he’s obsessed with Reg. He would never, ever give up on him."

Gibson, who rose to fame after she won Big Brother, is a presenter on This Morning and was the co-host on the show earlier this summer for Holly Willoughby's return. More recently, Gibson opened up about having a panic attack on the set of the show during her career.

This Morning airs on weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
