This Morning's Sian Welby gives birth to first child and reveals sweet name

This Morning star Sian Welby has welcomed her first child with fiance Jake Beckett. The 37-year-old, who is also a host on Capital Breakfast, shared the news with her social media followers on Saturday, June 29.

Sharing a series of photos of her daughter Sian wrote: “Our little Ruby,” revealing the newborn’s name for the first time. Upon making the announcement she was inundated with messages.

Fellow Capital radio star Sonny Jay wrote: “Ruby & Mia are already besties and they don’t know it yet.” Meanwhile, the official This Morning account wrote: “A massive congratulations to you both, from the whole team here at TM! We can’t wait to meet little Ruby!”

Jordan North’s Help I Sexted My Boss co-host William Hanson wrote: “Congratulations both of you!” And Inbetweeners star Emily Atack posted a string of heart emojis.

Earlier this month, when hosting her final Capital Breakfast show before going on maternity leave, Sian's co-hosts Jordan North and Chris Stark told her that she was going to make an excellent mum. "You are going to have the most amazing time, I've got a little girl myself. She's 9, but watching her grow up has been so special for me, she's intelligent, she's creative," Chris said. "Having a little girl – just having a baby is going to be amazing."

Jordan added: "I mean it when I say it, you're both going to be great parents. You're going to be the best mum and he's going to be the best dad. Honestly, we're so happy for you."
