Morwenna drops baby bombshell on Poldark

Last night's episode of Poldark (July 15) went down incredibly well with fans after Morwenna dropped the bombshell that she is pregnant with her second child.

Still recovering from the abuse inflicted on her by the recently deceased Reverend Ossie Whitworth, Morwenna faints following his funeral.

Later, Drake appears at her house, asking her once again for her hand in marriage. But Morwenna refuses, insisting that she can never be with him before emotionally confessing: "I did love thee once, but now please go and never return. I am with child."

Heartbroken fans shared their sympathies on Twitter, wishing that Drake and Morwenna would just get the happy ending they deserve.

But is Morwenna just sending Drake away because she doesn't want him to have to raise Ossie's son?

And if she wasn't already going through enough, it looks as though Morwenna is set to square off with Rebecca Front's formidable Lady Whitworth yet again in next week's episode.

Believing that there is something going on with Morwenna's mental health, Lady Whitworth says that she will be sending her to an asylum.
