Mosquito Fire Forces Evacuations in California's Placer County

Smoke from the Mosquito fire, burning in Northern California’s Placer County, could be seen filling the sky on Thursday, September 8.

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office filmed this footage from the scene on Thursday. On Friday morning, the sheriff’s office said the fire had grown to more than 25,000 acres.

Cal Fire said on September 8 that evacuation orders were put in place for Todd Valley. They also said that the fire was zero percent contained, and 3,666 structures were threatened. Credit: Placer County Sheriff via Storyful
