Mostyn Estates update after sign erected for popular Llandudno attraction that closed last year

Llandudno landowner Mostyn Estates has given a veiled update on the future of a once popular attraction. Bodafon Farm Park on Bodafon fields in Llandudno was opened by Mark Roberts back in 1999.

The attraction let people get close to animals like goats, deer and llamas and was a well liked family day out - particularly for those on a budget as entry was free. The cafe and event space was also popular - hosting weddings and parties.

But the site closed last autumn after the lease with owner Mostyn Estates came to an end and Mark also wanted to focus on his pub in Penrhynside. There have been no updates on the future of the site but recently a new Bodafon Farm Park sign was erected. This stated it was 'temporarily closed' - hinting at a comeback for the attraction.

North Wales Live contacted the estate to see what the latest was with the site. They confirmed that they "have plans" for the Farm Park but did not elaborate further, saying an announcement would be made in the future. They did add that as the states the Bodafon Farm Park site is "temporarily closed" - indicating a similar type of attraction will return.

A spokesperson said: "The erection of the new signage at the Bodafon Farm entrance is one of many works being undertaken to improve the overall appearance of the site. As the sign states, Bodafon Farm Park itself is temporarily closed to the public.

"We're pleased that the Owl's Trust have continued to commit to Bodafon and provide a remarkable sanctuary for the species. Bodafon Fields will also see the return of the popular annual events, the Llandudno Transport Festival next weekend, and International Gandeys Circus at the end of May so we expect to see plenty of activity.

"Neighbouring the site, the RNLI will host their Lifeboat Open Day in August which celebrates their 200th year of establishment. Additionally, we're sure that despite delays, on reopening, the Craig Y Don paddling pool will once again become a significant focal point for activity on the promenade.

"As to the future, we will be making an announcement at the appropriate point but needless to say we have plans for the Farm Park."
