This is the moment a motorist got out of his car just to kick over a snowman that was made by a nine-year-old girl.

The bizarre act was caught on a family's doorbell camera last week during the cold weather that brought snow to large parts of the UK.

The footage shows a man pull up in his car, cross a road and then go into the family's garden, all just to kick the snowman over.

The video was taken from a doorbell camera at a home in Dudley, West Midlands.

The man who kicked over the snowman was wearing a blue tracksuit.

After toppling the snowman, he walked back to his car and drove away.

Local children had hoped to watch the snowman melt.

The family said they were left baffled by the man's "weird" behaviour.

The girl's father, who asked not to be named, said: "The wife had a doorbell alert, then we saw what had happened. We couldn't believe it.

"It is weird that it annoyed him so much he had to stop and pull over.

"I know it's only a snowman but to come up onto someone's garden, it's not on.

"It had started to lean over, the kids were looking forward to it melting."

The girl's mother said her daughter had been left upset by the incident.

She said the man's actions were "mean and horrible".
