There have been big changes to the electoral map across the UK after an historic general election. People in many areas will be waking up on Friday with a new MP after huge gains for Labour and a disastrous performance for the Conservatives.

In a contrast to the last election five years ago, voters turned their backs on the Tories and decided it was time for Labour to govern again after 14 years out of power. The unprecedented national swing means there will be a huge number of new faces in the House of Commons and their new constituencies at the beginning of a new era for politics.

You can use our interactive map below to see the full results for your area, including which party won and who is now the MP. What is immediately noticeable is the amount of red on the map across Birmingham and the Black Country.

Labour has taken almost every seat in these areas, winning back some key constituencies which fell to the Tories back in 2019. There were also eye-catching results in places like Lichfield, Cannock Chase and Stourbridge which had been Conservative for years but were snatched by Labour.

A strong showing in parts of our region for Nigel Farage's Reform was not reflected in terms of seats. The party won tens of thousands of votes in the West Midlands, coming second in West Bromwich, Wolverhampton South East and Birmingham Erdington.

On a night where there was little to cheer for the Tories, they held onto seats in areas including Aldridge-Brownhills, Sutton Coldfield and newly-named Kingswinford and South Staffordshire.
