Yahoo News Ms. Lauryn Hill postpones Philly concert on doctor's orders: 'I need to rest my voice'
It could all be so simple, but vocal problems would rather make it hard.
Ms. Lauryn Hill — noted rapper-slash-actress, more powerful than two Cleopatras — had to postpone her show at Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Arena on Monday, citing vocal rest. The 48-year-old is currently on tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of her Grammy-winning masterwork The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
Hill announced her decision to reschedule the Philly show in a statement posted to social media.
"It is with disappointment that I am writing this note to you. On the advice of my physicians, I have no choice but to postpone the show tomorrow," she wrote. "I need to rest my voice to prevent any more serious strain or damage to my vocal cords."

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill marked the rapper and singer's debut and only studio album to date. An instant classic when it was released Aug. 25, 1998, The Miseducation went on to win five Grammys, including Album of the Year, and sold more than 20 million copies worldwide.
For the anniversary tour, Hill has reunited with her former Fugees bandmates Wyclef Jean and the currently embattled Pras Michel as her special guests on the road.
"The start of this tour has been incredible," Hill continued in her statement. "What an amazing experience to celebrate this anniversary with all of my family, my friends, and all of you."
Hill will resume her tour in Toronto after "resting for a few days" and will play the postponed Philly show Nov. 25.
