A top Glasgow pub is seeking someone new to come in and take over after the current landlady announced she'll be standing down after more than three decades.

Nina Steele, who has run The Park Bar in Finnieston for thirty years, has decided to "move onto pastures new" with the venue now looking for a new boss.

Serving locals and visitors alike in the west end since 1895, the bar has become a much-loved destination and champion for the Gaelic community thanks to its cracking atmosphere and reputation for traditional folk music.

Top bands such as Skerryvore and composer Gary Innes all shared messages of thanks for Nina's support over the years.

The agent behind the sale, Graham + Sibbald is now offering the premises at £75,000 a year for the leasehold interest, with a leasehold purchase price of £205,000.

They said: "Graham and Sibbald are delighted to bring to the market the iconic Park Bar in Glasgow. The pub for lease is a well-known establishment in the popular West end of Glasgow. The Park bar is offered to the market with a stellar reputation and loyal customer base.

"The Park Bar has been serving the residents of Glasgow and visitors for over 120 years. The lively Scottish bar is a hub for the Gaelic community and an inviting space that has hosted many up and coming bands over the years."

The agent said it is a "charming pub which benefits from a large open plan space perfect for a jig" and that it has "a warm and inviting atmosphere with an abundance of traditional features".

We reported in the summer of last year how The Park Bar was sold to the national pub chain Trust Inns.

At the time, the firm confirmed that Nina's decision to leave was unrelated to the change in owner.
