A Northern Soul night to take people on a trip down memory lane is coming to Coalville. It will be the first time the event has been held in nearly 50 years.

The Tiffany’s Motown and Northern Soul nights were a big attraction at Coalville’s Grand Ballroom in the 1970s, playing some of the biggest hits of the genre for the Leicestershire public. The Grand Ballroom has since become the Emporium nightclub, with Northern Soul not on the playlist for many.

However, organisers are bringing the "much-loved" event back for a special one-off night in August. It is an occasion they say will bring back memories for many and allow others to take a trip back in time.

The special event will take place in the Emporium’s main room and will see Northern Soul and Motown classics played back-to-back. One of the original Tiffany’s nights DJs, Richard John, is also coming back for the one-off occasion. Others on the bill include Colin Douglas and Mark Darcy, Woza Bennett, Andrew Sharpe and James Weston.

The Tiffany’s Northern Soul and Motown night will take place at the Emporium nightclub in Coalville’s Belvoir Road on Saturday, August 31. It will run from 7pm to 1am, with more information, including ticket prices, available on the Skiddle website. Tickets can also be purchased at the door on the night.
