Newly-released figures indicate Nottingham Forest spent more than £13 million on agents’ fees in the last two transfer windows.
The latest set of intermediary and agents’ fees released by the Football Association show the Reds splashed out £13,063,455 for the period from February 1, 2023, to February 1, 2024. It marks a significant increase from the £4,353,186 spent by the club in the previous 12-month period (1 February 2022 to 31 January 2023).
Nevertheless, Forest shelled out considerably less than others in the Premier League. Their sum pales in comparison to the £75m Chelsea spent on agents’ fees - with the Blues spending the most in the top-flight on that front.

The period concerned covers last summer’s transfer window and the most recent January window. Last summer, the Reds made 13 signings as they prepared for their second season in the Premier League. In addition to seeing Chris Wood’s loan move turn into a permanent deal, they brought in Ola Aina, Anthony Elanga, Matt Turner, Gonzalo Montiel, Andrey Santos, Murillo, Nuno Tavares, Nicolas Dominguez, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Odysseas Vlachodimos, Ibrahim Sangare, Divock Origi and Andrew Omobamidele.
In January, Forest strengthened again, adding Gio Reyna, Rodrigo Ribeiro and Matz Sels to Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad.
Releasing the figures, the FA state: “Payments included in these figures may have been made in relation to transactions that were entered into before the first date of this reporting period. As a result, the total payment figure per Club will not necessarily relate directly to those transactions listed involving a Football Agent/Intermediary registered in England for the same period.”
