Multiple Oxford bakeries crowned among best in world

If you're looking where to go for your next pastry, look no further, because eight Oxford bakeries have been crowned among the best in the world.

The bakeries were listed as winners of La Liste’s 2024 edition of the World Pastry Awards, which included 3,000 pastry shops worldwide.

The bakeries that won in Oxford are: Hamblin Bread, Ben’s Cookies, Gatineau Artisan Patisserie & Bakery, GAIL's Bakery Summertown, Proof Social Bakehouse, Dore Dore Bakery & Cake, GAIL's Bakery Jericho, and Millefeuille.

There were no major award winners in the area, with the only UK winner being Lannan Bakery, based in Edinburgh, which was one of the winners of the Pastry Opening of the Year Award.

According to Time Out, La Liste is a gastronomic guide that prides itself on "recommending the finest hotels and eateries across the globe".
