Mum's £21 'emergency meal plan' to feed family of four for a week
A budgeting mum has shared a full 'emergency meal plan' to feed a family of four for a week on £21.
With so many households struggling to get by, the guide lists all the ingredients for three meals a day over seven days.
She has included the prices of each item at five supermarkets - Tesco, Aldi, Asda, Sainsbury's or Morrisons.
Tesco comes out cheapest for her shop, at £23.47, but if you bought the items across all the stores, you could get them for £20.59.
Lorna Cooper has shared a link to the plan on her popular Facebook page Feed your family for about £20 a week and it's been shared hundreds of times in just a few hours.

"Please share our emergency meal plan so that we can reach as many people as possible," she said. "This plan is the cheapest way I could find to feed a family of four for seven days. It isn't sustainable long term as it doesn't meet all our nutritious needs, but is certainly fine as a stop gap."
The plan includes the likes of toast and scrambled egg for breakfast, soup or sandwiches for lunch and sausage and mash, pasta, hot pot or chilli for tea.
Dozens have already commented on her post, praising the plan.
"That is impressive, thanks for the work you've put into this," said one, while another added: "I think this is totally doable with no dietary requirements, a brilliant stop gap for hard times."
You simply submit your email on Lorna's website here to be sent a full copy of the plan, which lists all the meals, the full list of ingredients and cooking instructions for every meal.
Lorna said: "While this plan doesn't meet all the nutritional requirements we should aim for, I understand that many people are simply struggling to put food on the table right now. It breaks my heart that so many families are in this situation, and I believe it's unacceptable.
"While I can't solve this issue entirely, I can offer some practical assistance to help alleviate the pressure. So, I've put together another emergency meal plan that includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner for four that costs £20.59 across various supermarkets."
