Mum's fury at strangers who keep using the front of her home as a urinal

A mum is at the end of her tether after strangers repeatedly use the front gate of her home as though it was a public urinal.

The 40-year-old, who for safety reasons prefers to remain anonymous, shared that since moving into her Southport flat three years ago, she has woken 'every morning' to the distasteful discovery that men have utilized her gate overnight.

She expressed her distress, saying: "It's not nice having to walk out there after someone has done it. It's my home. How would they feel if someone did it to them?"

Living with her 21 year old daughter, the mother has reached a point where enough is simply enough regarding the misuse of her gate - which provides the primary access to her home - and so has installed a CCTV camera in the hope it will deter people from relieving themselves there, the ECHO reports. However, reviewing the captured footage, she was aghast to discover that they "just stared right at the camera while doing it."

Angrily, she added: "My gate is set back a bit from the pathway and men just think its alright to have a wee there. Before I got my ring doorbell I would come home and there would be wee all the way up my gate.

"Even since I have got my ring doorbell it hasn't got better. One man at 3am was caught looking right at the camera while he was doing it."

Her home is situated on a busy road, above a shop, about a 15 minute walk away from the town centre and only ten minutes from the closest pub. She says the foul incidents occur most often when the shop downstairs is shut.

The infuriated resident went on to say: "I have to use that gate as the way in and out of my flat, it's worse when it's dark but yesterday it happened and it was in broad daylight. It makes me angry, I want them being shamed for doing it so that it hopefully stops.

"I want it to stop."

The ECHO understands this has not been reported to police.
