A mum was left terrified after catching a balaclava-clad man wielding a crowbar outside her Edinburgh flat.

The woman, who lives in a high-rise in Calder, woke the following morning to find her bike missing from the property on Wednesday, May 15.

As reported in Edinburgh Live, she spotted the male lurking outside her home during the night as she reported him carrying a tool that resembled a crowbar.

The concerned resident shared an appeal for information online and posted images from her video doorbell.

It shows the creepy figure lurking around the common close with his face covered.

It is understood the incident was not reported to police.

It comes just days after a masked creep was spotted lurking in people's gardens in Craigentinny.

A resident reported it was a regular occurrence as she often finds unknown figures in her garden.

The incident was captured in the early hours of May 11, and shows an individual wearing a t-short, jogging trousers and a mask walking through the private garden.

And earlier this month, a woman caught someone " swiping plant pots " from her garden in Clermiston.
