Murder investigation launched after man stabbed repeatedly

A man has died after being stabbed repeatedly during an attack by three other men.

Police officers were called to Summertrees Road in Ellesmere Port at around 8.20pm on Wednesday, May 1. The man was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital, where he has since died.

Detectives have launched a murder investigation and officers who attended the scene found the man had been stabbed several times. A police cordon is currently in place on Summertrees Road.

Chief Superintendent Jon Betts said: “I understand the concern that this incident is likely to cause, and I want to reassure the local community that we are working hard to establish exactly what has taken place.

“Patrols have been stepped up in the local area to provide reassurance, and officers will also be conducting house-to-house enquiries near to the scene of the incident.

“As part of the investigation we’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed what took place. The same goes or anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage which may aid the in investigation.”
