Murder mystery set on the Suffolk coast to be released
A murder mystery set on the Suffolk coast and exploring the power of nature, is set to be released later this month.
'All That Lives Must Die' is the novel by Ivor Eisenstadt, a retired healthcare publisher.
Mr Eisenstadt said he was inspired to write the novel after finding solace in the Suffolk Heritage Coast.
He and his wife own a holiday lodge, where they enjoy walking, bird watching, and spending time with family.
Suffering from anxiety, Mr Eisenstadt said he found "immense healing power" in nature when little else seemed to help.
He said: "I was keen to share this experience with others and inspired to write 'All That Lives Must Die' as a vehicle for this while spending time enjoying walks, observing my neighbours and trying to make sense of things from my lodge on the idyllic Suffolk coast."
The novel centres on Dr Max Middleton, a retired GP grappling with self-doubt, guilt, and anxiety after misdiagnosing a child who died and neglecting his late wife Kathy’s early signs of cancer.
He retires to a lodge on the Suffolk coast, where he begins to heal.
However, the discovery of his holiday park neighbour Gertrude’s body on the cliffside changes everything.
While the police regard her death as an accident, Max suspects foul play and starts his investigation.
Readers will have to wait to see if the GP uncovers the secrets and motives of his neighbours, and how his obsession and anxiety intensify.
All That Lives Must Die will be released on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
