Yahoo News Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup Celebrate Their Second Wedding in Mexico City
Actors Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup tied the knot for a second time in a stunning Mexico City ceremony this weekend. Despite already marrying at a Manhattan courthouse in June 2023, the couple opted to throw a traditional wedding reception this past weekend.
The couple first met in 2017 on the set of Netflix series Gypsy, and kept their relationship private until they walked the red carpet together at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2022. Of their first wedding, Watts said, "nothing was planned because we wanted to keep it low-key," and she even got her flowers from a bodega. She added, "We found each other later than… yeah, late in life. And it’s really a special thing."
Their second wedding was a more opulent affair, an exquisite venue adorned with gothic arches, quatrefoils, crystal chandeliers, and baroque paintings.
Ben Watts—the brother of the bride, and a photographer and director—captured and shared a few videos on his Instagram. In one, which has since been deleted, the family is seen walking down the aisle. Watts, radiant in a sparkling, open-back white gown, holds hands with Crudup, who smiles warmly at his bride in a classic black suit as they exchange vows at the altar.
The two remaining videos on Ben's instagram including an amusing composition of the wedded couple and their guests smiling while they realize Ben is taking a video and not a photo, and a shot of the couple and their family in the elevator, waving goodbye.
Pictured in the second video are Naomi's two children that she shares with ex Liev Schreiber, Sasha, 16 years old, and Kai, 15 years old. Crudup's son William, who he shares with ex wife Mary Louise Parker, was also seen at the wedding.
During what appeared to be their reception, Watts tells the crowd, "This is a reminder of what life's about. The affirmation of love has been one of the simplest things but the most important."
