A supermarket in Leicester has been cordoned off this morning (Wednesday, May 8) after two delivery vehicles were damaged in a fire. Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said it received the first call at 4.22am of a report that a van was on fire outside Iceland in Narborough Road.

It said further calls suggested another van and the Iceland building itself had been damaged by the blaze. Two fire crews were called to the scene and the fire was later extinguished.

A spokesperson for the fire service said an investigation to find out the cause of the incident will begin later this morning. The supermarket itself is currently cordoned off and closed to shoppers.
