Natasha Lyonne Jokes That She’s Holding A-Listers to a ‘Blood Oath’ to Get Them on ‘Poker Face’ Season 2

Natasha Lyonne is already hard at work with “Knives Out” creator Rian Johnson on their Peacock series “Poker Face,” but she has some special ideas for who could be involved for Season 2 — floating Billie Eilish and Jodie Foster as dream guest stars while speaking with Variety at the Critics Choice Awards.

“It’s all cooking and it’s fucking hot. It’s gonna be a hot season,” Lyonne says, before joking, “There’s some big ideas and I’ve been going around all of this award circuit with contracts and so I’ve been getting people to sign up for episodes. It’s been really helpful … Billie Eilish. I’ll try to get her to sign one later tonight. You know, I hear Jodie Foster is gonna be here tonight. So I’ll try to get a signature, some sort of a blood oath or you know, spitting in a palm and a handshake still holds in this town,”

The carpet also brought a reunion to Lyonne, who ran into her former “Orange is the New Black” castmate Danielle Brooks (nominated for best supporting actress for “The Color Purple”).

“We really we do love each other,” Lyonne says. “I think Danielle in ‘The Color Purple’ is one of the more sensational, heartbreaking, devastating, hilarious show-stopping performances I’ve ever seen — and I don’t think that because I love her so deeply. It does make me cry a lot.”

That same feeling of pride was echoed by Brooks, who also tells Variety, “We’ve been talking so much on ‘Color Purple’ about sisterhood, but I’m telling you the sisters that have been holding me down from day one are my ‘Orange is the New Black’ girls. Natasha has been there, calling me for everything, reposting everything.”

Brooks added: “I’m so proud of her. She has been in this industry since day one and to have her own show, to be writing and directing ‘Russian Doll,’ that’s a huge feat to get that. That’s not easy. So I’m very, very proud of her.”
