Nate Burleson to Host CBS’ Hollywood Squares Starring Drew Barrymore

NFL vet Nate Burleson has been drafted to tackle the job of host for CBS’ new edition of the classic game show Hollywood Squares, which will feature Drew Barrymore camped out in the center square.

The new Squares will air Wednesdays at 10/9c, beginning in January 2025. The game show will be preceded by a special primetime edition of The Price Is Right at 8 pm, followed by Raid the Cage — co-hosted by Damon Wayans Jr. and Jeannie Mai — at 9 pm.

Hollywood Squares will also stream live and on demand for Paramount+ With Showtime subscribers, and on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after.

For the (sadly) uninitiated, Hollywood Squares is a game show in which two contestants play tic-tac-toe to win cash and prizes. The twist? Each square on their board is occupied by a different celebrity, who is asked a question by the player, who must then decide whether the celebrity’s answer is correct.

Hollywood Squares originally aired from 1966 to 1980 on NBC, where it was hosted by Peter Marshall, with funnyman Paul Lynde regularly occupying the coveted center square. The show has been rebooted twice in syndication, hosted by John Davidson (1986–1989) and by Tom Bergeron (1998–2004).
