Nathan Patterson to MISS Euro 2024 as Everton boss Sean Dyche reveals Scotland star return timeline

Everton star Nathan Patterson is set to miss Euro 2024 after boss Sean Dyche ruled the right-back out for the rest of the season as he awaits surgery.

The right-back suffered a nightmare hamstring injury during the Toffee's 6-0 battering at Chelsea on Monday night. The former Rangers star has had scans and will now play no further part in the English Premier League campaign - leaving Steve Clarke with a headache as he prepares to select his 23-man Scotland squad for the tournament in Germany. Speaking ahead of the clash with Nottingham Forest, Dyche said: "Patts is out for the season. He will need surgery. It's very unfortunate, a very unfortunate injury. We are disappointed in that one for him as much as us."

The revelation from the Everton boss only piles the injury woes on for Scotland and Clarke – notably at right-back. Aaron Hickey is facing a race to be fit for the tournament with Brentford confirming he will play no further part for them this season.

Bologna star Lewis Ferguson has already has his tournament dream dashed after suffering a serious knee injury. Grant Hanley is another who is touch and go amid fitness woes at Norwich City.
