Nationwide pays out 'extra' £300 in sweet gesture amid Cost of Living

Nationwide has paid out £300 in a sweet charity gesture after staff members completed a Muddy 5km run. A Nationwide branch team have tipped over £2,000 raised for Cancer Research UK this weekend by running the Weston Park Pretty Muddy 5k.

Belinda Stevens organised the team run and was joined by Alison Schnabel and Helen Kneller. The team have been fundraising for Cancer Research UK with cake sales, samosa sales, a book stall, and even a raffle in branch with prizes from local businesses.

Together with help from customers and staff they were able to raise over £1,700 in donations, with Nationwide putting in an extra £300 to bring them to a total of £2,000. Nationwide encourages its staff to get involved with the community, including offering all of its staff 2 days a year in paid volunteering time.
