Naughty Boy has pleaded with I'm A Celebrity viewers to show him some "mercy" after he won 11 stars in the most stomach-churning trial yet.

The music producer threatened to quit in the first week of the ITV show when he ended up in the Clink camp, saying his fellow celebs saw him as the "weakest link". And he started making noises about walking out again when he joined the main camp.

But after the contestants’ Storm Arwen break he told Arlene Phillips he was in it for the long haul.

“I’m here until the end — my end,” he said. “But I won’t ever say I’m going to leave you here, no never. Until it’s our time and only God knows when it’s our time. I’m so glad that we’re still here.”

Fans were dubious about Naughty’s change of heart, posting messages on Twitter saying they were counting the minutes until he said he was off again. But many changed their tune when the music star, whose real name is Shahid Khan, took on the Savage Stakeout Trial and gave it his all.

The terrifying trial saw Naughty strapped down in a giant wheel with his head, arms and legs in different compartments, while castle lords Adam Woodyatt and Simon Gregson sat on thrones nearby.

Hosts Ant and Dec told the lords they would be asked questions and Naughty Boy would be covered in critters between each round.

If they got the question right, he’d have to endure 30 seconds. If they got it wrong, he’d have to endure 60 seconds, plus the lords would be showered with castle nasties.

The lords got off to a good start and got several questions right, but Naughty Boy still had to endure earthworms, whip scorpions and cockroaches crawling all over him.

Squirming, he cried: “Something’s crawling up in me!”

And when the soap stars got a question wrong he begged: “Please guys, get the answers right!”

Despite the tough conditions, he kept his cool and managed to clinch all 11 stars.

“I can’t believe it!” the star shouted, saying it was “by far the hardest trial I have done”.

Naughty Boy then pleaded with viewers to go easy on him from now on.

“By far the worst trial and I hope the public have some mercy,” he said.

However, viewers admitted they had other ideas.

“Sorry Naughty, us viewers know nothing about mercy,” one tweeted.

“MERCY? FOR NAUGHTY BOY? NEVER,” joked another.

Another posted: “Naughty Boy: ‘I hope the public have some mercy on me.’ Us: ‘Nope’.”

“Did Naughty Boy just ask for mercy?” asked another. “Not a chance!”
