NCIS: Hawai'i has teased LL Cool J's permanent return to the show in a new poster

Following a cameo in the season 2 finale of the NCIS spinoff, it was confirmed that LL Cool J would be joining the cast of season 3 as a regular guest star.

The poster, available below, shows LL Cool J's Sam Hanna alongside Vanessa Lachey, Alex Tarrant, Jason Antoon, Yasmine Al-Bustami, Noah Mills, and Tori Anderson's characters.

The spinoff recently confirmed that it started filming just over a month ago in December, and also that it would premiere on Monday, February 12, 2024.

Due to last year's bevy of strikes throughout Hollywood, the season is expected to be shorter than usual, with between 10 and 13 episodes, rather than the standard order of 22.

LL Cool J has played Sam Hanna on several iterations of the show, including the recently concluded NCIS: Los Angeles and the NCIS/Hawaii Five-0 crossover.

Following his confirmation for a season three regular role, executive producers Matt Bosack, Jan Nash and Christopher Silber shared their excitement.

"All of us at NCIS: Hawai'i have been huge fans of LL Cool J for years and couldn’t be more thrilled or honored to be adding his spectacular talent to our ohana for season three," they said.

Lachey added: "One of the most beautiful things about working on NCIS: Hawai'i is the show's ability to bring the franchise together. We have had so much fun spreading the aloha to NCIS and NCIS: LA with the triple crossover.

"Now, we have the amazing opportunity to bring Sam Hanna to Hawai'i to help the island solve some cases and maybe have a few laughs in the process. Welcome to the ohana, Todd! It's going to be a fun ride!"

NCIS: Hawai'i airs on CBS in the US. NCIS seasons 1-20 are streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
