Neighbour from hell evicted after rash of anti-social behaviour
A neighbour from hell has been evicted from their home in Cornwall after antisocial behaviour made nearby residents' lives a misery. The occupier has now been banned from entering their home for three months.
Today, Wednesday, April 17, Truro Magistrates' Court heard an application for a premises closure order concerning the property. The home, in Trevethenick Road on the Malpas estate in Truro, had become a hive of antisocial behaviour, disrupting the neighbourhood.
Police officers and other agencies attempted to speak to the occupier to encourage them to mend their ways and help bring calm back to the street. However, the problem resident failed to cooperate and has now lost their home.

Following the granting of the court order, it is now an offence for anyone other than representatives of the housing association owners or emergency services to enter the property.
Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The decision to close the property was not made lightly, but Truro magistrates saw fit to close the property to all occupiers. This result has come about through excellent community intelligence and partnership working from Truro, Perranporth and Tregony Police, neighbourhood officers, LiveWest Housing and Truro antisocial behaviour team.
"The resident has been engaged with by various partners to rectify the situation and bring peace to the neighbourhood, but sadly, the individual concerned was unwilling to engage. As always, if you are experiencing issues of anti-social behaviour where you are, please get in touch."
