Neighbours spoilers follow for UK viewers.

Neighbours kicks off a dramatic hostage storyline for Yashvi Rebecchi on UK screens next week.

Yashvi (Olivia Junkeer) finds herself in terrible danger after getting too close to the truth over the drugs scandal that has affected Erinsborough High and the local community.

In scenes airing on Channel 5 early next week, Yashvi teams up with Levi Canning (Richie Morris) to search abandoned buildings in the local area – believing that drug dealer River Hannlon could be hiding out in one of them.

When River (Andrew Coshan) spots Yashvi searching, he makes contact with corrupt police sergeant Dax Braddock for help.

Before long, River makes contact with Yashvi and asks her to meet him in one of the empty buildings.

Yashvi is shocked when she arrives and finds River badly beaten. Although she immediately calls for help, Yashvi soon finds herself in big trouble when River falsely names her as his assailant.

Yashvi is suspended from duty pending further investigations – exactly what Dax (Dean Kirkright) needed to prevent her from jeopardising his plans any further.

Later in the week, Yashvi refuses to be deterred by her recent setbacks and heads back to Erinsborough High to finally unmask the school drug dealer.

Yashvi is triumphant when the student in question finally confides in her and names Dax as the person who has been pulling all the strings.

Just when Yashvi is about to bring down Dax once and for all, he arrives at the school and takes her hostage.

School principal Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne) is horrified to see the danger start to unfold, fearing for the safety of the students and teachers who are in the building. Will everyone make it out unharmed?
