Yahoo News Neighbours officially confirms Guy Pearce's return as Mike Young
Neighbours is officially bringing back Guy Pearce as Mike Young for the revival on Amazon Freevee.
The Australian soap's official Twitter account confirmed the news, tweeting: "It's official folks... Guy Pearce is riding back into Erinsborough as Mike Young in all new episodes of #neighbours later this year..."
Jason Herbison, the executive producer, told the Herald Sun: "We are delighted that Guy is returning to continue Mike and Jane's reunion. It was a highlight of last year's finale and (there is) definitely more story to tell for these much-loved characters..."

We don't know how long Pearce will be back for, but he teased last week that since his previous return turned out not to be an ending, he feels like it's right by the soap and the character to come back again, rather than have Neighbours return and write Mike out off-screen.
"Obviously, if I'm going to extricate myself from the show, I want to do it respectfully," he said last week. "I wasn’t just gonna go, 'Well, bad luck. You had your chance, that was it'. So there may be a little appearance or two, shall we say."
Pearce admitted to being taken aback by the news that the soap is coming back, and called up Jane actress Annie Jones to talk about it, when he learned that she has signed up to be on the revival full-time.

If Pearce is only back for a short time, does that mean that the couple will be split up?
Hopefully we'll find out sooner rather than later, as filming has already begun. Meanwhile, Amazon Freevee has recently added episodes from 2015 and 2016 to its service for viewers to watch again in anticipation.
Neighbours returns in the second half of 2023 with new episodes streaming free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. Network 10 will retain first-run rights in Australia for the new series.
