Neil Kinnock says George Galloway has 'always been repulsive' as he loses seat in 2024 general election

Former Welsh leader of the Labour Party Neil Kinnock has shared his delight in George Galloway losing his seat in Rochdale. George, who stood for Workers Party for Britain won the seat in March 2024 in a by-election.

He has now lost the seat to Labour's Paul Waugh, who is a former political journalist. Appearing on the BBC's election coverage Neil, who was leader of the Labour Party from 1983 to 1992, could not hide his delight that George had lost his seat.

Neil said: "I'm delighted! He is repulsive! Galloway is repulsive, he always has been... I couldn't find a good reason to chuck him out, which used to infuriate me. But I've known him since 1983 and he is repellent... he is such a chancer, he is so superficial."
