Neil Patrick Harris is gunning for David Tennant in new “Doctor Who” trailer
Time for some Doctor Who news! The BBC has released a new trailer for the science-fiction hit's trio of 60th-anniversary special episodes while confirming that guest star Neil Patrick Harris is playing the Toymaker, an all-powerful enemy last seen on the series back in 1966.
In addition to showing Harris' character squaring off against David Tennant's Doctor, the trailer features the first footage of Jemma Redgrave returning to her role as Kate Lethbridge-Stewart, the leader of UNIT, an organization committed to protecting Earth from unusual threats (of which there have been many on the series).

"This is just the start, as the fever starts to burn," showrunner Russell T Davies said in a statement. "We're heading for a November full of Doctor Who surprises, for fans and new viewers alike. Stay alert!"
The BBC announced in May of last year that Tennant and costar Catherine Tate, who played the Doctor's time-traveling companion Donna Noble, would reprise their roles from the late-aughts to mark the show's 60th anniversary this November.

"Oh, joyous," Tennant told EW when asked to describe filming the three anniversary episodes in an interview conducted before the SAG strike. "Just an unexpected treat to get to revisit something that had been such a lovely, wonderful experience 15 years ago. To get to have another proper runaround, in an albeit slightly different long coat, was a joy I never really imagined."
The new trailer also features Yasmin Finney, who is playing Donna's daughter Rose, and Ncuti Gatwa, who is set to take over the role of the Doctor from Tennant.
The Doctor Who 60th-anniversary special episodes will premiere on Disney+ in November. Watch the new trailer above.
