It’s not even Christmas yet, but Netflix has now dropped the mother of all surprises, and it’s the one we were waiting for – downloads.

Yes, your long commutes are about to get a whole lot more exciting, after the streaming service announced that it will offer downloads for the first time ever.

The new service means that buffering worries are now a thing of the past, and you’ll be able to store the likes of Narcos, House of Cards, Breaking Bad, and Stranger Things on your iPad – ready for any long journey.

Announcing the game changer in a blogpost, Netflix wrote: ‘While many members enjoy watching Netflix at home, we’ve often heard they also want to continue their Stranger Things binge while on airplanes and other places where Internet is expensive or limited.

‘Just click the download button on the details page for a film or TV series and you can watch it later without an internet connection.’

Unsurprisingly, people are pretty damn excited about the whole thing.

Now hoping to get in on the offline Netflix goodness? We can’t say we blame you.

It’s pretty simple to do – simply log onto the app, download the latest update, and VOILA, the future is yours.

However, with great power comes great responsibility – so don’t go blaming us if your binge watching habits end up taking up the whole of your weekend.

Still, that DOES sound extremely fun.
