Netflix's Selling Sunset gets unexpected new spinoff
Selling Sunset, the reality show from Netflix, is getting a surprise spin-off set in New York City.
As reported by Deadline, the streamer has ordered Selling the City, which will focus on “agents at real estate brokerage Douglas Elliman as they navigate the cutthroat world of luxury real estate in New York City.”
Selling the City is the third spin-off from the main show following Selling Tampa and Selling the OC, the latter of which recently aired its third season. The first season of Selling the City will consist of eight episodes, with a release date not yet confirmed.

Netflix also recently announced a UK show, Buying London, which is inspired by the main show. Focusing on property mogul Daniel Daggers and his “ambitious team of agents at DDRE Global”, the series premiered earlier this week.
The main show aired its most recent reunion episode in November, with work on the eighth season now underway. One star who won’t be appearing, however, is Heather Rae El Moussa, with the cast member saying the break would be a “blessing.”
“It was a blessing that I wasn't asked to come back because I'm so much happier filming my show with [husband] Tarek,” she said. “We're co-producers on our show so we pick the hours. With Selling Sunset, I never knew when I was going to be filming.

“It was last minute, it took over my life, it was hard to do my real job — real estate. It was hard to do anything else. There would be days I'd come home to him [Tarek] crying from the stress of filming.
“I pretty much was level-headed almost the whole time. I was kind of friends with everyone and I kept things pretty chill in my life. You're around a bunch of women [who all want] to be stars on the show, you know, number one. And they'll kind of do anything.”
