Netflix's top watched TV and movies for first half of 2023
Netflix has revealed the most-watched TV shows and movies for the first half of 2023.
The streaming giant has shared a comprehensive and in-depth report of what people have been watching globally, covering sixth months at a time.
Between January and June 2023, the most watched TV series was season 1 of The Night Agent, with a whopping 882,100,000 hours viewed following its release in March. It's by far the most watched thing on the streaming service.

Ginny & Georgia season 2 settles for second place, while Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story lands in fifth place, behind last year's first seasons of The Glory and Wednesday.
Ginny & Georgia actually make a second appearance in the top 10, with season 1 in ninth place. Interestingly, La Reina del Sur season 3 is in seventh place, despite not being available globally on Netflix.

In terms of movies, Jennifer Lopez's The Mother is the most-watched, racking up 249,900,000 hours of streams. Luther: The Fallen Sun and Extraction 2 are up there as well.

In its summary, Netflix stated that non-English stories made up 30% of overall viewing, while licensed content (ie: things not made by Netflix) represented "tremendous value" for subscribers and the rights holders.
