New '24' Series On Hunt For New Villain After Judy Davis Quits

24: Live Another Day has been hit with a major setback after the actress who was due to play a villain against lead star Kiefer Sutherland, has been forced to quit her role leaving producers on the hunt for a replacement.

Australian actress Judy Davis was set to appear as Margot, a British citizen and the widow of a notorious terrorist, for a recurring role in several episodes of the Fox series which will see Sutherland revive his character Jack Bauer, however, The Hollywood Reporter claims Davis has pulled out of the series citing personal matters.

The publication reports that casting is set to begin immediately to find a replacement for Davis, who was nominated at the Oscars twice throughout her career.

Filming for the anticipated show, which follows on from the original show which ended in 2010, has already begun in London with the likes of Sutherland, Kim Raver, Mary Lynn Rajskub, William Devane set to reprise their roles while newcomers Tate Donovan, Yvonne Strahivski and Benjamin Bratt have been cast.

A trailer for the news series aired during the Super Bowl on Sunday and opens with a close-up of a Union Jack before the camera pans out to reveal a chaotic scene in London.

As explosions go off, Jack and Chloe, played by Rajskub, emerge from the rubble with their arms around each other as Jack begins shooting.

24: Live Another Day will receive a two-hour long premiere on Fox in the US on May 5 and is expected to be shown on Sky1 in the UK.
