New Bluey episodes set to be unveiled this summer

The show follows a six-year-old Blue Heeler dog and her family

Bluey fans will be thrilled to hear that there are 10 new episodes on the way, with some big name stars making cameos.

The new instalments of the much-loved animated series about a six-year-old Blue Heeler dog and her family will be available on Disney+ in the UK and Ireland and around the world on Wednesday, 12 July.

The show's latest run will include appearances from the likes of Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, who appears as a talking horse in the episode Stories.

And Peter Rabbit actor Rose Byrne - who has two young sons with her partner Bobby Cannavale - will play mum Chilli’s sister Brandy in the episode Onesies.

“Fans have been keenly anticipating more Bluey, and we’re excited to share these new stories with them,” said Henrietta Hurford-Jones, the commissioner and executive producer of Bluey for BBC Studios Kids & Family.

“We’re so happy at how our audiences have taken Bluey to their hearts!"

"These episodes will not disappoint families, with episodes such as the excellent ‘Tradies’ and others," she went on.

"And viewers will love the return of the Grannies in Granny Mobile.”

When did Bluey start?

Bluey was first launched in Australia in 2018.

But it really took off around the world during the coronavirus lockdown in 2020, becoming a success with viewers and scooping plenty of awards.

Several celebs are fans of the cartoon hit, with Eva Mendes and Natalie Portman among those giving it the thumbs up and voicing characters in the series.

The new episodes of Bluey are set to be released July 12th on Disney+.
