Newcastle drinkers are being taken to the much sunnier climes of Hawaii, thanks to a new bar that has opened in town and it serving up thirst quench cocktails and flavoursome street food. And it's the sister venue of an already very popular haunt.

Going into the same premises most recent opened by Missy Milieu and Solano's before it, recently opened Hula Co. is tucked away on Side in the city centre, just along from The Empress and has already become quite the favourite on Instagram, with pictures of its drinks, dishes and attention grabbing surroundings make their way onto the social media platform in their droves over the last few weeks.

Hula is the kind of place where cocktails are served in skulls and then set on fire, where tacos are devoured by the bucket load and, according to the mission statement on its website, is 'bringing a touch of the tropics to Newcastle with laid back chilled dining and cocktails.

Hula's food menu includes tacos, poke bowls, nachos, charcoal BBQ and curries, while its cocktail offerings, which are ALWAYS 2 for 1 include Frozen Daiquris, Mai-Tais, Margaritas and many more. If you're partial to a Bottomless Brunch, which Newcastle has become rather famous for, you should be well taken care of by the option of bottomless cocktails, prosecco or Bud, along with a brunch dish such as a poke bowl, curry or tacos and sharing nachos.

Hula is the brainchild of the team behind Twenty Twenty, the Bigg Market haunt which has become one of the top rated places for bottomless brunch in Newcastle, as well as being famous for its enormous pizzas.

Hula is open Wednesday-Sunday every week, with closing time 11pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.
