Newcastle United tease new adidas home kit and training gear in stunning 100-second video

The wait is over. Newcastle United will officially renew their partnership with adidas on Friday morning, but have released a sneak peek of the new home kit tonight.

The Magpies posted a special video on their social media channels, featuring club legend Alan Shearer and including clips of fans wearing the new home strip. The kit goes on sale at 8am on Friday morning, but the video featured an emotional message from Shearer.

The video has Shearer narrating a stirring message about what supporting United means, along with a haunting rendition of the Blaydon Races accompanied by clips of famous Newcastle goals and moments in previous adidas kits.

The strip itself features two thicker white stripes on a predominantly black shirt, with Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall seen wearing an all-white training top.

The new adidas home shirt launches at 8am on Friday, June 7, priced £80 for adult sizes, while junior shirts will be priced at £55. Authentic match shirts will cost £110. The club have pledged to donate £5 from every home shirt sale to the Newcastle United Foundation until the end of August.

Newcastle United CEO Darren Eales said: "Reuniting with adidas and launching an iconic new home kit together is an incredibly exciting moment, and we are looking forward to seeing supporters around the world wearing it with pride. When we discussed our new retail operations with the club's Fan Advisory Board, they asked us to consider how we might be able to use this important moment to benefit our community and I want to thank them for inspiring this idea.

"By coming direct to the club to buy a home shirt, our fans will be playing a huge part in supporting the incredible work Newcastle United Foundation does across the North East every day. Donations from home shirts will directly benefit programmes across the community, helping the Foundation to continue providing meaningful opportunities that really do change thousands of lives."
