Two people, including a 21-year-old newlywed, died following a car crash on Black Friday.

A Dodge Ram driven by a 37-year-old man was traveling eastbound on State Road 40 near milepost 47 in Utah on Friday when the driver lost control on the icy roadway and crossed into the westbound lanes, according to a news release from Utah Highway Patrol.

The Dodge collided with a Honda Accord just after 4:30 p.m. local time. Inside the Accord were a 21-year-old man, who was driving, and a 21-year-old female passenger.

Both the man driving the Dodge and the woman riding in the Accord were pronounced dead at the scene.

The 37-year-old victim has been identified as Poul Larsen and the 21-year-old as Kelsie Remington, according to ABC affiliate KTVX and The Park Record.

The driver of the Dodge appeared to be “traveling too fast” for the road’s icy conditions prior to the crash, according to police.

A winter weather advisory was in effect at the time of the crash, according to the National Weather Service.

As of Wednesday afternoon, over $30,000 has been raised via GoFundMe for both families as they cope with the aftermath of the unexpected tragedy.

“Unfortunately, the life insurance policy Kelsie's parents had for her expired on her 21st birthday,” her family wrote on the page. "Please consider making a donation to help ease the financial burden of all affected."
