NEWS OF THE WEEK: Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter gallops in at number one

The superstar singer has claimed her eighth number one on the all-genre album charts. With 407,000 units sold, Cowboy Carter scored the biggest week of 2024 so far, and the largest haul since Taylor Swift's 1989 (Taylor's Version) debuted in November 2023. Cowboy Carter also took out the number one spot on Billboard's Top Country Albums charts making Beyoncé the first Black woman ever to have led the Top Country Albums list since its inception in January 1964. "This album has been over five years in the making," Beyoncé posted to Instagram on Cowboy Carter's release.
