NEWS OF THE WEEK: Netflix is sued over 'Baby Reindeer'

Scottish woman Fiona Harvey is suing Netflix for $170 million, The Verge reports. She claims that her "identity and likeness" were referenced for the show's character, Martha Scott. and used to tell "brutal lies" which ruined "her reputation, her character and her life". Series creator Richard Gadd claims that the show is based on a "true story" of his personal experiences, in which he portrays a "fictionalized version of himself being stalked by Martha," The Verge reports. Harvey claims that her identity as the inspiration for Martha was "completely undisguised" and Netflix "did literally nothing" in terms of fact-checking.
