NEWS OF THE WEEK: Succession and The Bear dominate the 2024 Emmy Awards

Succession won six awards in total, including the big one of the night, Outstanding Drama Series. It won the same award at the last Emmys in 2022. Writer Jesse Armstrong and director Mark Mylod won outstanding writing and directing for the Connor's Wedding episode, while three of the cast took home individual awards. Sarah Snook and Kieran Culkin won best actress and actor and Matthew Macfadyen won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. The show has now won 19 Emmys across its four seasons.
